   Sounds like conjunctivitis, particularly if your eyelids get stuck together when you wake up of a morning. Warm water with lots of soap rubbed against the eye at regular intervals worked for me! (Get right into the sides of the eyes even though it hurts)

     Sorry for replying so late, comment notification seems to be switched off. Though I’m kinda glad I tried eye drops first before reading this…argh (again)! XD Thanks for the advice though.

   There is a simple way to get rid of irritated eye :) Take a cup of boiled water, plain black tea (like the English blend in Netherlands), and get -really- strong, half-cup of the tea essence. Now just wet some cotton pads in the tea and lay it on your eyes while it’s still warm. Make sure to drip 2-3 drops of tea into your eye too. Soak pads frequently to keep them warm and do this for about 15 minutes.

   Black tea works astringent for any mucosa :)

     O_O I think I really like this advice…I read your comment a bit late so already got eye drops instead, but…I’ll keep this one in mind next time an infections shows up. And I’ve aaaaalways got black tea at home. Thanks for sharing! :D
