One tip about okra, is to use something sour to battle the sliminess. it could be fresh lemon juice, tamarind, or dried mango powder.

oh, and do add it while you are cooking, not after :)
(I am indian, and okra is a regular thing :))
I did that once, and ended up with a gooey slimey mess I could not eat :D
How long do you usually cook it for? I tried boiling it (but without something sour), and it resembled a swamp… :<
